Como continuación al post Viajar con niños / Traveling with kids, voy a compartir unos consejos que nos han ido bastante bien en el viaje que hemos hecho hace unas semanas.
El "Efecto Extraño"
Para empezar os recomiendo que viajéis, a ser posible, con otra u otras familias con niños de edades similares. En nuestro caso ha sido muy positivo por varios motivos, entre ellos lo que nosotros llamábamos el "efecto extraño", que no es otra cosa que el hecho de que los niños se portan mejor cuando un extraño se lo pide... por ejemplo había momentos en que ninguno de los dos niños querían sentarse en su sillita, pero si era la madre o el padre del otro niño el que lo sentaba en la sillita, lo aceptaban sin rechistar, y todos tan contentos sin necesidad de montar una escena!
Las "Busy Bags"
En inglés llaman "busy bags" a una bolsa, mochila o similar en la que guardamos juguetes o actividades para mantener a los niños entretenidos (y más o menos silenciosos) durante un buen rato. Esto es imprescindible en el avión, en los restaurantes, el aeropuerto u otros lugares en los que los niños se pueden aburrir de esperar.
El contenido de la bolsa dependerá de la edad y las preferencias del niño, pero en nuestro caso para los niños de 19 y 24 meses respectivamente nos funcionaron muy bien los libros de pegatinas, los coloreables, los puzzles, los coches pequeños, las herramientas de plástico...
Los "Must Have"
En el post Viajar con niños / Traveling with kids hablé de algunos gadgets que había comprado para el viaje, y hay dos de ellos que han pasado a nuestra lista de imprescindibles para viajar con niños pequeños. Se tratan del bolso-trona y la maleta trunki. El bolso-trona nos vino de perlas en algunos restaurantes en los que no tenían tronas disponibles, y los niños agradecían poder sentarse siempre en su propia trona estuviéramos donde estuviéramos. Y la maleta trunki fue todo un éxito en las esperas en los aeropuertos, ya que en vez de tener que ir corriendo detrás del niño con una maleta o bolso en la mano, podíamos llevar al niño sentado en la maleta, dos pájaros de un tiro!

Further to the post Viajar con niños / Traveling with kids, today I'll share some tips that have worked quite good for us on the trip we did a few weeks ago.
The "Stranger Effect"
For starters I recommend you to travel, if possible, with one or more families with children of similar ages. In our case has been very positive for several reasons, including what we called the "stranger effect" which is nothing other than the fact that children behave better when a stranger asks... For example there were times when neither of the two children wanted to sit in their strollers or car seats, but when it was the other child's mother or father who tried to put him in the seat, they accepted without question, and everyone so happy without having a scene!
The "Busy Bags"
As will probably know, a busy bag is a bag, backpack or similar in which store toys or activities to keep children entertained (and more or less silent) for a while. This is essential in the plane, at restaurants, the airport or other places where children can get bored of waiting. The contents of the bag depends on the age and preferences of the child, but in our case for children 19 and 24 months old we worked very well with books of stickers, coloring books, puzzles, small cars, plastic tools...
The "Must-Haves"
In the post Viajar con niños / Traveling with kids I talked about some gadgets I had bought for the trip, and two of them have joined our list of must-haves for traveling with toddlers. The booster seat-bag came in really handy to us in some restaurants that did not have high chairs available, and children always appreciated being able to sit in his own chair wherever we were. And the Trunki suitcase was a success in the waits at airports, because instead of having to go running after the child with a suitcase or bag in hand, we could tow the child sitting on the suitcase, two birds with one stone!
